Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Is online therapy right for me?

A: Online therapy can make therapy less stressful! Virtual appointments make it possible to get the help you need from the comfort of your own home. If you have physical or mental health issues that make attending a weekly appointment difficult, have a busy schedule, or just feel more comfortable talking about your feelings in your pajamas…online therapy can be a great option.

Q: How long does therapy take?

A: I wish I could give you a definitive answer, but the truth is that everyone’s journey towards healing looks different. Some people come to therapy with a specific goal in mind while others are looking for support in managing their mental health or healing from trauma. During our first few sessions, I’ll collaborate with you to develop a comprehensive treatment plan that addresses your needs and goals.

Q: How often do people go to therapy?

A: Typically, people go to therapy once a week for a 50-minute session. I recommend everyone start with this frequency. However, if there are times when you need additional support, twice a week may be beneficial. In addition, if your schedule and/or finances limit you from attending weekly, I offer bi-weekly slots.

Q: What’s the difference between talking to you or my best friend or family?

A: Talking to friends and family can be an amazing way to get emotional support, but I believe the therapeutic relationship is one that can truly, dramatically promote healing. I offer a shame-free, non-judgmental environment for you to express yourself and process any and all feelings (even the ones you might not feel comfortable sharing with friends and family). Plus, as your therapist, I’m able to provide psychoeducation and utilize evidence-based treatments to help you in your path towards healing.
